The Crystal Mosque

A photo of the new "crystal" mosque taken from Pulau Duyong, Kuala Terengganu. The Crystal Mosque is part of Terengganu's new tourism project of building miniature representatives of popular mosques including the Blue Mosque in Turkey.

The picture was taken with the 400D on a tripod, with the 24-105mm F4L and a circular polarizer. The day was extremely sunny and hot.

Kuala Ibai Mosque

Picture of the white, "floating", mosque in Kuala Ibai, Terengganu. The picture was taken just after maghrib thus there was still some colour in the sky (unfortunately, I think the sky would look better if we arrived there much earlier). The sky was also alight with lightning - that could be seen on the upper right corner of the picture.

As the name suggests, the mosque rests on top of a body of water and reflections of the mosque and part of the sky could be seen on the water. I used a 30 second exposure and the "painting with light" technique to highlight part of the mosque.

Taken at the beach near Ikelah's house in Kuantan when we visited him last weekend. I used a new technique I learnt while reading one of Ikelah's photo magazines to edit the above photo (as well as all the following photos).

A guy getting on a pay-boat to get across the lagoon to Seberang Takir.

Below are higher-contrast re-edits of previous pictures of Mama Sarah and my daughter at the beach in Batu Rakit, Terengganu.

vote on the second pic. sarah in actionis great with the heavy stratus cloud and the lighting on the sand. kena cari wide angel juga nih Tue 30-Oct-2007 07:32

dear Mynn,

I must say that with your new lens your pics are getting priceless. When I told ikelah, he said, if you want good pics, get me a wide angle lens! Habislah Mynn, lepas ni ada org mengumpul duit lagi nak beli lens! Ish!

We're in Beautiful Terengganu

Gosh, it had been so long since I had last updated my Fotopages due to very limited internet access. The latest picture is from a beach in Penarik, taken on the way back to Terengganu from our travel to Perak for Aidil Fitri. It was Maghrib time - and soon after the picture was taken the Azan sounded (and we rushed to continue our journey).

This picture was taken with my EFS 10-22mm, with flash and minus EV to darken the background. The subject is my son Amar. Many more pictures of our Eid on their way - stay tuned!

just one word to describe this.. Superb!
